The challenge
The district needed a dependable network capable of connecting multiple buildings across a rural area while supporting a growing number of digital learning, testing, security, and administrative applications. Delivering that connectivity required coordinated engineering, permitting, underground construction, fiber installation, and restoration across the entire route.
The project
RLM managed the project from initial planning through final installation. The work included engineering and fiber-route design, permitting, directional boring, excavation, open trenching, conduit and handhole installation, fiber pulling and splicing, traffic control, backfill, and restoration of affected work areas.
Outcome
The completed private fiber network gave the school district dedicated connectivity between its key facilities and created the infrastructure needed to expand digital services throughout the district. The network supports initiatives including remote classroom learning, online testing and assessments, real-time video security, and access to online assignments and educational resources.
